Greeters (Login screen )not appear when start linux mint

"Greeters Login screen not appear" this problem happen because somehow your cinnamon desktop environment removed or its need to re-configure.

Lets apply some Techniques,

You can get your desktop-environment through the following command from your black screen,

 startx

You can also try below two method if your problem not solved.

1. Firstly, if you need to re configure your desktop environment just run this command in your terminal

sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm # select lightdm here

This command will work if your lightdm is exist in your system.if it missing you need to install the cinnamon desktop environment.

Then logout and login the cinnamon session.

2. If your cinnamon desktop environment missing then you need to install it. To install through the command copy the following command,

sudo apt-get install cinnamon-desktop-environment

This is meta-package of cinnamon desktop environment.

Then logout and login the cinnamon session.
